The UI Science Park is Iceland's first and only science park. Located in the heart of Reykjavík, it serves as the premier hub where universities, entrepreneurs, companies, and independent researchers collaborate to develop innovative solutions and knowledge for the future.

Deep Tech Center

UI Science Park is developing Iceland's first deep tech center. The 11,700 square meter facility is scheduled to open in 2028 and will house co-working spaces, community hubs, and R&D facilities. These will serve researchers and startups in the life sciences, technology, and creative industries, with an emphasis on large-scale interdisciplinary research unprecedented in Iceland.

From Knowlege to Value

The Science Park area hosts a diverse community of companies, entrepreneurs, and independent researchers. It is home to some of Iceland's most successful deep tech companies (Decode Genetics, Alvotech) and software developers (CCP Games, NetApp), over 500 University of Iceland students, and the Gróska innovation house—now the heart of Iceland's early-stage startup ecosystem.

Innovation Community

The Science Park operates the Mýrin innovation center, a community hub for early-stage startups, entrepreneurs, and university students. With a robust support network and close collaboration with the University of Iceland, Mýrin has become a key pillar in fostering the growth and success of Iceland's diverse next-generation startups.

Culture and Nature

Located in the heart of downtown Reykjavík, the Science Park is within walking distance of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa, Perlan and Sólfar. The area buzzes with life and culture from the University, arts community, and downtown activity.

The Science Park is actively evolving. The Deep Tech Center represents the next significant milestone in our vision to establish the science park as Iceland's premier hub for research and innovation. Plots remain available for lease to interested companies and institutions.
